The Non-Ferrous Metal Works Group (NFM) is one of the major metallurgical undertakings in Southern Africa.
With the Head Office and two manufacturing facilities situated in Durban, the largest port in Africa, the company is ideally situated to serve local and especially overseas consumers of non-ferrous semi-fabricated products. NFM was established in 1966 and today is one of the largest extruders of copper and brass alloys in South Africa.
With a number of conventional extrusion presses and draw benches, NFM have now invested in Conform™ extrusion technology from BWE. A new Conform 400 line will be installed and commissioned during the second quarter of the year. Copper Busbar and other shaped conductors will be extruded from a 16mm diameter copper rod. BWE and NFM are looking forward to a bright future together.
